Approval of the New Doctoral Course in Applied Physics

It is with great enthusiasm that we announce the approval of the new doctorate in the Graduate Program in Applied Physics of the Physics Department of UFRPE. This initiative marks a significant advance in the training of researchers and the promotion of technological innovations. Developed by a multidisciplinary team of professors, the new doctorate course will offer solid training, both theoretical and practical, aligned with the current demands of science and society.

The doctorate in Applied Physics aims to prepare professionals to work in several areas, such as materials, nanotechnology, optics, energy and quantum technologies, covering three lines of research: complex systems, quantum information and low-dimensional systems. Students will be able to develop research that integrates theory and practice, contributing to the resolution of real and challenging problems faced by society.

The new proposal will rely on the infrastructure of the Physics Department and UFRPE's multi-user laboratories, equipped with advanced technology and access to cutting-edge equipment. In addition, partnerships with research institutions such as UFPE, UPE, UFAL, UFPB, among others, and private sector companies will provide doctoral students with practical experience and opportunities to collaborate on innovative projects.

The creation of this course will not only expand opportunities for advanced training at UFRPE, but will also strengthen the local and national scientific community. Graduates are expected to become leaders in research and development, contributing significantly to the advancement of physics research and its various applications. With the approval of this new doctorate, we are investing in the training of new scientists and fostering an environment of innovation and collaboration. We look forward to seeing the results that this initiative will bring to science, technology and society.
